AI To Outperform Human Efficiency In Next 45 Years

Artificial Intelligence has made its way into the world and is preparing for tomorrow. While the world is talking about ways in which AI will shape our future, the findings of a recent study conducted at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom and Yale University in the United States of America unveil exactly the same.

The survey was conducted by over 350 artificial intelligence (AI) researchers.

Here are some of the key findings of the report:

  • In next 45 years, the efficiency of AI is going to outperform humans.
  • In next 120 years, all human jobs will be automated.
  • Machines will surpass the humans in translating languages by 2024, could write high-school essays by 2026, drive a truck by 2027, perform retail tasks by 2031, and even perform a surgery by 2053.
  • But, fret not, there are only five per cent chances that these developments by the AI machines will lead to human extinction.
  • Nearly 10 per cent of the researchers believed that High-level machine intelligence (HLMI) will arrive in next nine years. While the Asian researchers see HLMI be in full-fledged use in next 30 years, the American respondents said the timeline will be 74 years.
  • Nearly 48 per cent researchers suggest research on minimising the risks of AI should be prioritised by society more than the status quo.
  • Sixty-seven percent respondent said that the progress of AI was faster in the second half of their career and only 10 per cent said progress was faster in the first half. The median career length among respondents was six years.

Here are 32 AI Milestones that will be reached in next few decades. Out of these 20 milestones will be achieved in next 15 years.

When we say Artificial Intelligence, we are not just talking about machines or robots that will make human life easy or do tasks that are purely mechanic. Rather, artificial intelligence has the power to accelerate human task and even be on par with the human efficiency.

These applications have come up with algorithms that automate tasks including studying and shortlisting resumes, sending follow up emails, or finding potential candidates for your company’s new vacancies.

  • Beamery: It is a candidate relationship building software that uses machine learning software to track application and also build a relationship with the candidates for future. The application uses social media channels to fill the gaps in candidate information.
  • ThisWay Global: A recruitment platform uses AI to fill the information gap about candidates. It also focuses on gathering skill set information rather than segregating on the basis of information such as gender, race and age.
  • Mya: A recruitment bot or an assistant automates as much as 75 per cent of the recruiting process. With Mya, the chatbot is provided to candidates that allows them to communicate using Facebook Messenger. Hence, the candidate can understand the level of his skills for the job even before recruiter contacts them.
  • Jobo: A chatbot for candidates allows them to provide information including your LinkedIn profile address and resume. With this information, it finds the candidate a job perfect for their skill-set and even send you notification. Alternatively, you can query Jobo for jobs in your area of expertise and apply directly through the conversational interface.

World’s largest technology players, Apple, Google and Accenture, have realised that Artificial Intelligence is and will be developed as the new User Interface. But, why?

In a recent event Accenture Technology Vision 2017, one of the most talked about trend was AI. One of the most important chapter discussed about how AI is the new UI. Instead of manually scanning pictures, they use machine-trained estimates for repair costs, enabling agents to accelerate a claim past triage and into repair, salvage, or appraisal,” a blog at Accenture reads.

The blog further reveals that in more advanced stages AI will become an orchestrator. It will bring together different channels, learn from the interactions and then create and execute new tasks.
